Losing weight can be a daunting task! You may do great the first couple of weeks, but slowly start losing your motivation. You may wonder how other people reach their weight loss goals. You have to marvel at how they manage it!
Before you start losing weight, you need to draw up a fitness plan and identify your goals. Do you want to slide back into an old pair of jeans, or get fitter than you’ve ever been before? Is there a certain amount of weight that you want to lose? Are you invested in becoming a healthier, more physically fit person?
Make sure to keep a record of how well you are doing. You should record your weight no more than once weekly. If you weigh yourself too often, it can be a detriment to your self-esteem. Keep a food journal in which you write down all the things you eat, along with the calorie content of each meal. Make sure you write in all your beverages and snacks as well. This can sometimes keep you from making bad decisions when choosing what you are going to eat and drink.
If you wait until you are starving, you may be more likely to make bad food decisions. In order to avoid this problem, bring healthier foods with you when you leave the house. When you take your lunch you can make much healthier choices than eating out at a restaurant or diner. Bringing a lunch along will help you avoid temptations. In addition to cutting back on calories, bagged lunches are also cheaper than eating out.
Successful weight loss programs need to include both dieting and exercise. Find a workout you find enjoyable, and perform your workout at 3-4 days each week. If you are having trouble exercising, try breaking it into smaller blocks or incorporate your exercise into the things you enjoy doing. For those times when you get together with friends, plan a neighborhood stroll. If you love to dance, think about taking a class – the options out there are endless. Are you a fan of the great outdoors? Step outside and go on a good, long hike.
It might sound simple, but if the junk food isn’t there to eat, then you won’t be tempted to eat it. Keep your kitchen full of food that is healthy. Quit purchasing items you know are detrimental to your diet plan. Do not buy junk food in the first place.
Identify a workout buddy you can always call on to exercise with you. In many cases, if there is nobody to keep us accountable, we tend to slack off and neglect what is best for us. You are more likely to keep on trucking when you get worn out or frustrated if you have a friend working out alongside you.. You and your friend can encourage one other as well as give advice when asked.
